Cheers were heard up and down John Jay High School's hallways when Principal Steven Siciliano announced the top honors for the Class of 2025. Congratulations to Valedictorian Dakota Cameron and Salutatorian Kate Stevens!
The stand-out students are more than academically amazing.
Dakota won the Visionary Engineering Award for her Science Research project ”Utilization of Plastic Fiber Wastes from the Fast Fashion Industry in Concrete to Mitigate Environmental Impacts of Plastic and Enhance Concrete Strength.” She’s been part of the Creative Portfolio Program at Writopia since she was invited to join as an 8th grader, and a member of John Jay’s Field Hockey team.
Kate is a competitive dancer, junior member of the Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps and volunteer at Northern Westchester Hospital. She’s also involved in extracurricular clubs including Best Buddies Club, Campus Congress and Relay for Life, and tutors each week for Reach Out John Jay.
Congratulations, Dakota and Kate!
